Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews Booted From MSNBC Political Anchor Desk

http://feeds.foxnews.com

Keith Olbermann may be the “voice” of MSNBC, but network executives have decided to yank the talkmeister off its politican anchor desk after the cable channel finishing dead last in the Nielsen rankings of all news coverage during the two weeks of political conventions.

The network announced Monday that Olbermann and Chris Matthews have both been booted as co-hosts on political night coverage in favor of David Gregory, whose White House press corps experience may make him better suited to deliver sober and less opinion-driven assessments of the news.

Palin’s Personal Experience Could Help Special Needs Kids

http://feeds.foxnews.com

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Polishing off his strawberry-banana yogurt, Jacob Moore races to his keyboard with a whoop, picks his way through “Pop Goes the Weasel” and gives his mom a high five. This is the average stuff of childhood, and it has not come easily to the 8-year-old with Down syndrome.

For his mother, Heidi Moore, achieving average “is like climbing Mount Everest.” The family has been clambering up with the help of therapists, 15 surgeries, prayer and a tight-knit community of parents whose children live with the disorder.

Cheney ‘Loved’ Palin Speech to Republican Convention

http://elections.foxnews.com

ROME — According to one man who would know, there is nothing stopping Sarah Palin from doing a great job as a vice president.

Vice President Dick Cheney told reporters in Rome on Monday that he “loved” Palin’s speech to the Republican National Convention. He laughed when he recounted her line about the difference between hockey moms and pit bulls being a coat of lipstick.

“I thought her appearance at the convention was superb,” Cheney said.

WASHINGTON — Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama acknowledged Sunday that he was probably too flip when he said it was “above my pay grade” to answer a question about when is a baby entitled to human rights.

Pastor at Palin’s Hometown Church Prays for Media

http://elections.foxnews.com

WASILLA, Alaska  — A little sermon about — and for — the messenger seemed to Pastor Larry Kroon an appropriate message on Sunday morning.

Nearly two weeks after the state’s lone congressman squared off against Sarah Palin’s lieutenant governor, no clear winner has emerged in Alaska’s Republican House primary.

At this stage of the counting, embattled Rep. Don Young is ahead by several hundred votes against Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell as counting continues of absentee ballots from the most desolate parts of the state as well as military ballots from overseas.

Gallup Daily Poll Gives McCain Largest Margin Since May Over Obama

http://elections.foxnews.com

John McCain has taken a slight lead over Barack Obama, 48-45 percent, according to the latest Gallup Daily Tracking poll out Sunday. It is the largest advantage for McCain, though still within the 2-point margin of error, since May.

The 48 percent also registers the largest raw number McCain has received in the poll since Gallup started its daily tracking of the two presidential candidates in March. McCain matched that number in May.
